Why Use DataSavers?

Simple. We can save you money. A lot of it.

We have the knowledge and experience to recover data from the majority of bad drives. Our lab includes advanced drive recovery hardware, supported by years of component-level repair expertise.

How do we do it?

To answer that question, it is important to understand how drives fail:

  • Data Failure - (e.g file corruption) is common and often the least expensive and easiest to recover.
  • Electronic Failure - The logic board on the bottom of the drive fails, preventing a drive from spinning up or from accessing the data. Data can be recovered once the board is replaced or repaired.
  • Firmware or Configuration Failure - Critical information about the drive's configuration is lost or corrupted, preventing access to the data.
  • Mechanical Failure - (e.g. crashed heads, damaged platters, motor failure, etc.) We use advanced technology to "work around" bad components in a drive to recover data whenever possible. We also perform some mechanical repairs. However, some drives are so damaged that clean room intervention is necessary. A clean room is a special environment with filtered air and controlled climate. (Picture men in "space suits.")

Note that data corruption can also occur in any of the above failure modes. Data Savers, LLC specializes in recovering data from these drives using special techniques developed over years of experience and success.

Our competitors typically charge between $800 and $2500 for labor. Special orders (e.g. weekend and rush charges) can total as much as $9,000. Some also charge a hefty evaluation fee. Our labor charge for recovery from Data Failure is $349; for logic board repair / recovery costs $649 (for drives smaller than 400 GB).

We do offer expedites, weekend service, and other special services (e.g. recovery of drives > 400 GB) at additional cost, but at reasonable rates. Other charges may include the cost of media used to hold the recovered drive (DVDs or a new hard drive). There are no hidden charges or surprises.

If we fail to recover the drive, we will diagnose the fault and your only cost will be a $49.00 evaluation fee plus return freight.

Why spend upwards of $2500 to recover your data if we can do it for $349 or $649?
