Our Services and Charges

The cost of data recovery depends upon the size of the storage device and how it has failed. Data Savers, LLC provides low-cost flat rate pricing whenever possible. These rates are listed below. If you have questions about the category of the recovery, please call and we'll explain it to you.

Diagnostic Fee

We provide a basic diagnosis of the drive's failure and a quotation for recovery with no charge for labor.

A $100.00 Lab Fee is charged only if a drive is brought into the clean room, our expertise is unable to increase the yield of data recovered. We assess this fee only after we have received your authorization for Level B Data recovery (defined below).

Basic Data Recovery (Level A Service) - $349.00 to $549.00**

We examine your drive to determine the type of failure (click the Why Data Savers, LLC? link to view the various categories). If information can be recovered without the need mechanical, electronic, or firmware repair, we will perform a Level A data recovery. We will recover your data to another (new) hard drive or other media, and return your old drive. $349.00 applies to single drives with less than 500 GB nominal (unformatted) capacity. Drives that are 500 GB but less than 1.5 TB cost $449; single drives of 1.5 TB or larger cost $549.00

Data Recovery (Level B Service) Requiring Electronic, Mechanical, or Firmware Repair - $649.00 to $849.00**

If your drive has a failed logic board, bad heads, or defective firmware, we will have to repair these problems first. We will recover your data to another storage device, and return your old drive. If our clean room expertise does not yeild any data, a $100.00 Lab Fee will be charged. $649.00 applies to single drives with less than 500 GB nominal (unformatted) capacity. Drives that are 500 GB but less than 1.5 TB cost $749; single drives of 1.5 TB or larger cost $849.00.

Deleted File Recovery - $249.00 to $449.00**

In certain cases, files that have been deleted or otherwise unavailable (e.g. the drive has been formatted, the partition or directory structure is damaged) may be recovered at discounted rates. This option is only available if the hard drive is in otherwise perfect operation condition (e.g. no bad sectors). If we encounter physical problems such as bad sectors in the process of perfroming a deleted file recovery, we will have to do a Level A recovery instead. $249.00 applies to single drives with less than 500 GB nominal (unformatted) capacity. Drives that are 500 GB but less than 1.5 TB cost $349; single drives of 1.5 TB or larger cost $449.00.

The deleted file recovery process is time-consuming. In order to maximize the yield of receovered data, we typically use more than one algorithm (program) to recover the data, yielding multiple data sets. Therefore, we recommend that the target drive that we recover the data to be at least 2.5 times the size of the original drive.

USB Pen Drives - $99.00**

We can recover data from USB pen drives. The above rate is for capacities up to 4 GB, and do not include hardware repair. Recovery requiring hardware repair for most devices is $199.00 plus parts, if applicable.

iPod® and Other MP3 Players

Missing your music? Data Savers, LLC can help. Because of the wide selection of iPods and other players, we will need to examine the device before we can provide a recovery quotation.

FileVault®

Drives using Apple's FileVault encryption may incur an additional charge. The data recovery process may include recovery of the FileVault sparseimage; however, images that are corrupt or require decryption require additional labor and resources.

RAIDs

Data Savers, LLC can recover data from multiple hard drive arrays, including RAID 0 (striped) and RAID 5. We also specialize in the LaCie® brand of arrays. Charges will vary depending upon configuration, level of damage, etc. Please contact us for a quotation.

NAS Drives

NAS is an abbreviation for network attached storage. Typically, these drives connect to a network through an Ethernet interface (e.g., an Apple Time Capsule®). Configurations vary greatly, so we cannot offer flat rate pricing. However, our recovery prices should be among the lowest in the industry. Please contact us for a quotation.

**The prices shown are for labor only. Expedite charges, media costs, and shipping charges are additional. Contact our office for details.
